"Maternal Mortality & Reproductive Health in Ethiopia"
This highly controversial film inspired an in-depth discussions
with panel and audience members about the relationship between policy,
religion, equality and security in women's lives throughout Ethiopia.
Program Summary:
An enlightening about prevalent reproductive health issues in Ethiopia and how we can
support maternal equality and decrease child mortality. We will have
dinner, a traditional Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony, and music. Panelists
will include Sarah Craven, Chief of the United Nations Population Fund
(UNFPA), who worked on fistula prevention and treatment in Ethiopia and
Yodit Negede from Geoscope Environmental Laboratories and advocate for Link
Ethiopia, who will discuss the social and cultural concessions that must be taken into consideration when implementing programs in Ethiopia.
